This weekend my sister, mom, the girls, and I went to the MN Zoo. It was so fun hanging out and having a girls day and watching the girls’ reactions towards all the animals, especially ones they have only seen in books!
They wanted to ride the turtle. This is probably as close to that as they’ll ever get.
Grandma with a busy onlooker.
Next we visited the Butterfly Garden. First we had to go over some rules: No touching. No killing. Those were basically the two main rules. What’s the first thing Elliot does when she gets in? STOMPS on an exotic zebra butterfly as we’re admiring it in its pathway. Seriously, girl!
By mid afternoon some little feet were getting tired, so Auntie offered to help out.
We were all looking forward to visiting the Dinosaur Exhibit while at the zoo! After watching Dinosaur Train and Land Before Time countless times, I thought for sure Elliot would love seeing semi life-size replicates of these creatures. She seemed excited, but as soon as we got in and the first one rawred, she was done!
Cora did quite well. She was a little hesitant if we got too close, and grabbed on a little tighter, but overall I was impressed at how well she took to the large creatures.
We also took the monorail at the end of the day and by then both girls were exhausted. Even just sitting and watching the animals out the window seemed tough. They made it through though, just barely.
