I can’t stand how cute these two are and how much love they have for each other. They truly are best buddies.
Here are a few snippets of this past weekend. We’ve been pretty busy with swimming lessons, going to the park, the beach and playing around the house so here’s a few photos to prove it!
Talking to “Echo” the sewage drain. Named Echo because of the sound it makes when they drop in wood chips or rocks. This is the first spot they go to say HI to Echo when we go to this park.
We have peppers!! Also coming up: carrots, green bell peppers, Serrano and jalapenos. We’ll be set on peppers for awhile!
Father’s Day! Eric bought himself a gift: two supersoaker guns to play with the girls. They definitely had fun!
SWIM LESSONS! This is the first year that Elliot is on her own without a parent in the water with her and Cora’s first time ever; it was really fun and they both did great! It’s really fun to see how independent Elliot is getting, participating and listening to her swim instructor and not even noticing that she is all by herself – so proud of her!
At the beach!! It was fun watching the girls in the water; Elliot loves digging in the dirt and splashing anyone around her, while Cora didn’t want her hands or even her feet dirty or wet until she had settled in for a bit.
But it didn’t take long for her to get dirty – there she goes!
And this chick had no problem getting her hands dirty!
We’re staying quite busy in the Daniels’ house and I’m working hard on trying to document it all along the way.
Eating a meal is often a difficult task in our house, especially when we take dinner outside to enjoy the evening; there are so many more distractions that come up; bugs, critters, the dog, anything… so I’ve resorted to strapping the girls down so that they have no choice but to eat before continuing to play. Some days it works, some days it doesn’t. Being strapped down didn’t bother Elliot on this night – she was determined to play whether she had a chair stuck to her butt or not …
“I want to eat with the cat food spoon!”
“Yum, I like to drink Nala’s water.”
Elliot: Cora, don’t touch the TV! Cora: Why? Elliot: Cuz that will make Dad mad and not happy. Cora: Why?
“Sure is a nice day. Sure is!”
“Hey, I have an idea! Maybe we can ride a rocketship to outerspace. And I could drive!”
“I wish I had sharp claws so I can run fast like Nala.”
“MOOOOM, there’s up-chuck on the floooooor!”
“Dad, don’t squirt that tree, it’s really old. It’s like sixty bucks!”
“I wish I was a blue dragon so I could blow fire at other dragons in the sky.”
“If I was a dragon, I would eat ketchup and beer… I don’t want to be a dragon.”
“I’m a funny, lucky gummy bear.”
These two will forever have a special bond because of their close age. There has only been a few months where Elliot didn’t seem too interested in the fact of having a sister, and that was when Cora couldn’t do anything else but cry and sleep. Since Cora has been about 8 months old, the two of them have been completely in love with each other; chasing each other, reading to each other, hiding from Mom together… and its just recently been where they can actually have [kind of] a conversation between each other. It’s really pretty cute trying to figure out what they’re saying. They really don’t leave each others sides all that much. Here’s a snippit of the two of them together throughout the days.
